I'm not a lawyer but during business school I was required to take two semesters of business law. It was mostly a study of case law and review of court cases. There was many examples of corporations and non-profits being held liable for the actions of their employees or volunteers. Wouldn't the BOE be considered agents of the organization. I know that my actions would legally hold my company I work for liable because I'm a manager. In fact I know of low level sales associates that have caused my company thousands in damages for their negligence.
I don't think the Org limits their liability by the structuring they are doing. The Org can try all they want to hide money but the fact is their largest assets are real estate property. They have the money not Bob the elder.

Maybe I will compile a list of GB helpers and see if in 5 to 20 years they get "appointed" by "holy spirit" to future "princes". I understand now why so many JW worship these helpers because they may be future royalty. -

I found some info. I left several years after they started to gain prominence.
In view of the tremendous increase worldwide, it seems appropriate at this time to provide the Governing Body with some additional assistance. Therefore it has been decided to invite several helpers, mainly from among the great crowd, to share in the meetings of each of the Governing Body Committees, that is, the Personnel, Publishing, Service, Teaching, and Writing Committees. Thus, the number attending the meetings of each of these committees will be increased to seven or eight. Under the direction of the Governing Body committee members, these assistants will take part in discussions and will carry out various assignments given them by the committee. This new arrangement goes into effect May 1, 1992. For many years now, the number of the remnant of anointed Witnesses has been decreasing, while the number of the great crowd has increased beyond our grandest expectations

So after nearly 15 to 19 years of not attending a convention, I can't recall exactly, I went to one last year. The brother giving the talk was from Bethel and was introduced as a helper of the Governing Body. It was a title I never heard of before. I've been inactive since the 90's. His name was David Schafer. His talk was boring and basically consisted of warning against apostates and he even named the ones Rutherford dismiss from the board of directors as apostates. He even named the splinter groups that were formed and then caught his mistake and warned those not to google the names he just mentioned. Anyways what I thought was interesting is how this "helper" was treated. First a prayer was given mentioning his name and during lunch people flocked all around him. He was being treated like some movie star. He also is the one doing the interview on jwtv of the lawyer.
So do helpers later on feel the holy spirit and began partaking at the memorial? I'm just curious where the GB members are picked from and thought maybe the "helpers" who devout their life to these men are on the short list.

1. Walmart tells their employees "You don't need a Pension because you have Social Security coming from your $8 a hour paycheck!"
Walmart has a 401k with a 100% match. Pensions have been declining for decades in most sectors.
$8 an hour is starting pay for an entry level position that requires no education nor advance skills.
With that being said I wouldn't recommend anyone to get a job at Walmart. It is low pay and impossible to live off unless you become a manager.
2. Walmart hands out to their employees applications to get Food Stamps because they know their employees can't make enough money working for Poverty wages. The Middle Class end up giving Walmart Employees the "E.I.C. Tax Credit" plus Food Stamps.
An outright lie. I've been a manager for Walmart nearly 19 years and never handed out applications to get food stamps. If it has happened it was not by company directions.
Walmart does benefit the most by government assistance. I believe Walmart received near 14 billion in SNAP money and their employees cost the government around $6 billion in some type of assistance. So a nice $20 billion for the tax payers. It is estimated however walmart saved American families $257 billion in purchases (2006 statistics)
I'm not a supporter of Walmart, but tired of people spouting talking points they read as if its fact. Or worst make up their own lies. I can speak from experience. I started at Walmart at $4.75 an hour in 1995 and now make over $60,000. I'm only an Assistant Manager which is the lowest level of salary manager. You can make money in Walmart if you are motivated. I don't enjoy my job nor agree with their pay policy. So I'm changing career. That's what a free market is about.
The $15 an hour pay that keeps being spoken of for low skill workers may not be a solution. It will interesting to see the results in the cities that implement it.

A starting teacher in my area makes $32,000 a year. That is someone who completed four years of college and may have between $6k to $18k in student loan debt. So you want McDonalds, Walmart, and such to pay low skilled 18 year old kids $30,000 a year? That is what $15 comes to at 40 hours a week. That also doesn't include all the other cost (workers comp insurance, medical, dental, unemployment insurance, ect..)
Again I'm not pro walmart but if you are going to make an argument it needs to be accurate and factual. There is plenty of things wrong with Walmart. The real solution if you hate the company is don't shop there and don't work there.

It is sad though that even after classrooms full of kids are massacred there is still no political will to enact even basic changes to have background checks.
Background checks are required. Any licensed dealer is required to perform background checks. I'm a manager at Walmart and have sold somewhere around 300 guns in my career. They all had to pass a background check.
What isn't required by most states is background checks for private sales. In other words, you can go to a gun show say in the state of Florida with your gun. You can then sell it to anyone there and not be required to perform a background check. That is the loophole some feel needs to be fixed. Federal law defines a private seller as anyone who doesn't rely on gun sales as their principal means of financial support.
I'm all for gun control laws. I like Chris Rock thoughts on the topic

Things can change if enough people will it, gun control, a tightening up of regulations can effect a public change of mood. That is a very powerful thing. It needs political courage to start the ball rolling.
Those are all valid but guns are part of America's culture. It will be very hard to change an entire countries culture. Gun ownership transcends all types of groups. Democrats, Republicans, all races, males, and females. ect. own guns in this country. A mass shooting and killing of little children is not enough to even get real gun control laws to be pass on a national level, and people still think guns will be banned.
Again, the only question I have is, "How are you going to disarm over 100 million Americans and remove around 310 million guns from this country?"
